Contour & Highlight feature Nyx, Ben Nye Powder

Hello ladies,
Few weeks ago, I went to Ulta to purchase makeup products and I came across to the NYX 3C Palette- Conceal, Correct, and Contour.
I've used this ever since I bought it, even for clients, and let me tell you ITS AMAZING!
The texture of the product is creamy, not cakey at all, easy to work on as a concealer, to correct any problem areas, and even to contour.
This is great for people who would like to save some money, and still have great results. Perfect to have in your makeup kits for freelancers.

1.Light Conceal, Correct, and Contour.
$11.99 (USD)
Light Correct Conceal Contour

2.Medium Conceal, Correct, and Contour.

3.Dark Conceal, Correct and Contour.

This is how I contour & highlight:
Ive combained Medium and Dark palette to create the "nature" shadows/structure of my face.
1. Apply the "orange" shade from the dark palette to neutrolize my blue/dark under eye circles. Blend!
2. Apply the "yellow" shade from the medium palette under eyes, side of the nose, center, between eyebrows going up, center of the chin and under cheeckbone to highlight.

3.Mix "dark brown" dark palette with "medium brown" medium palette, and apply to contour side of the nose, temples, forehead or side of forhead close to hair line (i dont apply it all around my forhead because i have a small forehead) and jawline.

4.start blending the highlight areas with a damp beauty sponge, like a tap/bouncy motion. And then the contour areas with a blending brush or even with the same beauty sponge.

5. Set under eyes with Ben Nye banana powder and also AEsthetica contour kit to set the contour of the nose and cheeckbone. **see pics below**

Summer Makeup Look: Turquoise Sunset

Hello!!!!
Back again, this time I wanted to play with colors and I thought this will be perfect now that summer is coming up. Very easy to create, and with inexpensive makeup products.

  • After moisturizing and priming my face: as a primer I am using Arbonne Face Primer,  apply your foundation all over the face and eyelids as well, I am using Maybelline Fit me Matte+Poreless Foundation 322 Warm Honey
  • For eye primer, I am using NYX Pearl all over my lid expect my crease, and then on top of the primer NYX Jumbo pencil Peacock to help the eye-shadow show better (this step is optional).
  • Any turquoise eye-shadow would work, but I am using one from a Sephora palette and it has no name, pack it all over the lid.
  • For the crease, I am using an Orange eye-shadow from a duo palette from mac and has no name (sorry) but again any orange eye-shadow will work. blend it all over the crease. The orange will be our transition color, it will make it look very natural going from blues to different shades of browns for the outer corner.
  • For the outer corner of the eye, I am using two different shades of browns, one has a red orange undertone, apply it in the outer corner working yourself in with a blending motion, then I applied a darker brown eye-shadow concentrating more in the outer corner, blending motion. This will create more depth to the look.
  • For the bottom water line, apply a black pencil or gel eyeliner, and also apply the 2 different brown shades, starting with the red-orange brown first, and then the darker brown.
  • Line eyes creating a sleek wing and apply my favorite mascara, I am using Maybelline "The Falsies" Volum' Express Waterproof Very Black  (2 coats)
  • For the Lips, I would recommend to go very natural, I am using  Revlon Lipstick "Fashion's Night Out" with Arbonne Lip Polish "Coral"
  • To clean up any fall outs around the under eye or check bone area, this is the time to use your favorite concealer. I am using Fit me concealer shade Sand 20, and use a translucent powder to set the concealer and any oily areas like around your nose and forehead. I am using Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder Transparent.
  • For the Cheeks, I am using a bronzer from NYC "Sunny".

Hope you guys like it, See you soon!!!

How to do the Perfect Wing Eyeliner

Wing Eyeliner can make such a difference in your look. I personally like to do it most of the time, but it takes time and practice! throughout the years, the technique gets better and easy, also depending the product you are using.

I like to wing eye-lined using a liquid and/or gel liner. Eyeliner pencils could be a bit tricky depending how smooth the formula of the pencil is. Not all eyeliners are creamy, it could be too stiff and hard to move around your lid. You can also use the eyeliner pencils as base, once you get the right angle/shape, then finish the look by  tracing it with a liquid/gel liner.

TIP make an eyeliner by warming the tip of a khol liner with a lighter.
Hold the tip of the liner right above the flame for a few seconds, and then test the pencil on the back of your hand before lining your eyes.

Let me demonstrate you on how I like to wing eye-lined

Demonstration:

  1. Draw a line (A) in an angle to desire length of eyeliner . You can go very simple or dramatic.

  2. Draw a line (B) from Inner corner of eye to the outer corner.
  3. Connect both A and B creating a triangle(c).
  4. Paint the empty spaces, and you can even go over Line B to create an angle line of your choice.
Few other tips:
you will follow steps 1 through 4, but this time use your thumb in the middle of your lid close to the crease, and gently pull the skin up. this will help for your skin not to crease or move at eyeliner application. Personally, I like to do this to my clients, it give me more control.

AVOID using tape around your eye area, this part of the face or the skin is very delicate, and easy to damage. by placing a tape and the pulling the tape, you are pulling skin away. if you do, be gentle or apply extra eye cream.

How to create "Ombre Lips"

How to create this Ombre Lips...

This look has been a trend for the past 2 years. You can go very dramatic, or wearable, whatever is the case you can simply do this look with any lipstick. It doesn't have to be expensive makeup. Let's have some fun

Here are some quick steps:
  1. Always prep your lips before, make sure to moisturize your lips by applying lip-balm. This will help you get rid off any dryness/crack lips. Give it few minutes to your lips to absorb the moisture. I like to apply my lip-balm right after my face moisturize, and the continue with my foundation. I am giving some time for my lips to get all the moisture needed before I proceed to the next step.
  2. Since we are trying to get the ombre effect, I personally like to apply my foundation or whatever is left in my brush. My lips are pigmented, this steps helps me to have a nice application, more like an even canvas.
  3. This is the fun part, grab any color lipstick and outline the lips working your way in. I opted for Milani "Matte Glam". You can either use the lipstick directly to your lips, but I applied with a lipstick brush to be more precise. Once you start getting to the center of your lips, apply it with less pressure and blending motion.
  4. Now pick a different shade of lipstick, you can pick  2 or 3 shades lighter than first color, or even a different color. Again, you can use a lipstick brush or the lipstick directly to the your lips, but remember we are going to blend the lines between those to colors. Another alternative you can use to blend will be your fingers, just make sure they are clean :) Apply the color in the center of your lips, and start blending it with the first color. This would be the part where you can find your own taste of how vibrant or ombre you want  your lips.
  5. Once you are satisfied with your lips, grab a concealer brush with a concealer or foundation of preference and go around the outline of your lips to clean up the edges.

First impression: Younique 3D fiber Lashes

Who loves faux Eye Lashes?? This girl!!!!
Is it hard to put it on? Yes, we need practice and patience.

I've seen around all social  media "Younique 3D mascara" and heard good things about it but it's  hard to believe is going to work for me since I have  almost down-straight lashes. I have to use waterproof mascara, the formula works the best for me since it dries pretty quick and makes lashes stay curl all day.

After months, I decided to give it a try. I had it for more than a week without any use, I still wasn't sure if it was going to work for me, but today I gave it a try!

It comes in an black packaging more like eyeglasses container. There are two mascara tubes: "Moodstruck Transplanting Gel" and "Moodstruck Natural Fibers"

Inside of the packaging comes with instructions, pretty to understand... The cool thing about this is that you can still use your favorite mascara, and i was pretty happy about it because then I can use the waterproof mascara to lock the curl.

Cost = $29.00(USD)

This is how I applied it:
1. Apply your favorite mascara.
2. Apply a coat of the Moodstruck Transplanting Gel. Do not let the Gel dry!
3. Immediately apply a coat of the Moodstruck Natural Fibers.
4. Apply a last coat of the Moodstruck transplanting gel to lock the fibers.

And that's it!!!!!!!! Now, you can repeat this process as many times as you want, if you have short lashes like me I would recommend 2 times to achieve long dark lashes. If you have long lashes, one process should be fine!

You have to be careful with the gel since is very wet and can be a bit messy. Especially if it touches your crease, but easy to fix. Probably some fall outs but nothing to worry about.
The look is very natural but it gives a nice full effect without faux lashes. This is something i can use everyday or even for night outs!
The price is reasonable for the amazing results. For my taste, I will try to use this more for special occasions or whenever I take pictures for my makeup look if needed.
Definitely 2 thumbs up to this product!

You can purchase this from a Younique representative.
if you will like contact them, here is link to my cousin's info, she is a Younique Consultant.

Milani Statement Lipstick Review

This post is overdue. Couple of weeks ago I went to CVS and purchased some of the Milani Lipsticks. I've purchase 2 from the Milani Statement collection but matte formula, and I literally fell in love with them. So of course I had to go back and found more but creme formula .

First of all, the colors are amazing, the formula is very rich  and true to its color, long lasting coverage. Price was even better $5.99, I love to go to drugstores because not only you can sign up for a reward program, they have specials buy 1 get 50% off second item. or from "brand" receive $5, $10, etc. So of course I got all these lipsticks under "buy 1 get 50% off second item" :)

(TIP: remember to take your time to purchase anything, you might find an awesome deal.)

Left to right: Nude creme, Rose Femme, Sangria, Teddy Bare, Power Pink, Violet Volt.

Picture above was taken with an iphone 5s, no flash! I didnt even have to fix/edit the picture.

My everyday liptiscks are Nude Creme and Rose Femme. So far I have no problem with the coverage, and it doesn't even dry my lips. I have also used Violet Volt more than once and let me tell you that people are going to turn around and compliment those lips!!! The color is so vibrant, it catches anyone attention. I wore it at work once, and I knew it was a bit dramatic, but I made sure to not wear any prints, just a black dress, and definitely I made an statement that day! Why not play around and still be confident? It's risky, but you have to learn how to balance it out.

Tip: always moisturize your lips before applying any lipstick, not only it will keep them hydrated but you will also help with the application!
