Milani Statement Lipstick Review

This post is overdue. Couple of weeks ago I went to CVS and purchased some of the Milani Lipsticks. I've purchase 2 from the Milani Statement collection but matte formula, and I literally fell in love with them. So of course I had to go back and found more but creme formula .

First of all, the colors are amazing, the formula is very rich  and true to its color, long lasting coverage. Price was even better $5.99, I love to go to drugstores because not only you can sign up for a reward program, they have specials buy 1 get 50% off second item. or from "brand" receive $5, $10, etc. So of course I got all these lipsticks under "buy 1 get 50% off second item" :)

(TIP: remember to take your time to purchase anything, you might find an awesome deal.)

Left to right: Nude creme, Rose Femme, Sangria, Teddy Bare, Power Pink, Violet Volt.

Picture above was taken with an iphone 5s, no flash! I didnt even have to fix/edit the picture.

My everyday liptiscks are Nude Creme and Rose Femme. So far I have no problem with the coverage, and it doesn't even dry my lips. I have also used Violet Volt more than once and let me tell you that people are going to turn around and compliment those lips!!! The color is so vibrant, it catches anyone attention. I wore it at work once, and I knew it was a bit dramatic, but I made sure to not wear any prints, just a black dress, and definitely I made an statement that day! Why not play around and still be confident? It's risky, but you have to learn how to balance it out.

Tip: always moisturize your lips before applying any lipstick, not only it will keep them hydrated but you will also help with the application!

Concealer Basics: Color Correcting Concealers

Probably you will be able to relate to this type of skin problem, but my skin isn't perfect and I have some acne scaring (I know this is my fault, I can't keep my hands of my face) and major under eye DARK circle.
Color Correcting is great to help us conceal any of skin problems we might encounter, not only are great to cover past acne scaring and dark circles, but also to help us cancel out redness around the nose, rosacea, 4 different types of dark circles, temporary eliminate tattoos, as well as  highlight cheek bones , eyes, bridge of the nose, etc.

Before I start talking about some  make up alternatives, let's go back to the Color Wheel

This is pretty basic, once you learn which color would cancel other color, you will be mastering color correcting. Red is directly across green: Green Concealers will help to neutralize any redness around the nose area, red blemishes, etc.  Now that we get how to use the color wheel, Let me show you some Color concealers and discuss their purpose.

1. Green Concealers: Use a green based spot concealer to remove redness from any zit, or acne scars. If you have widespread redness, (rosacea, windburn or sunburn) then a color correcting green primer will be the best to reduce redness and gives a even toned base for foundation.

2. Purple Concealer: As you can see, purple is directly across from yellow on the color wheel. Purple, lavender, or lilac is best to eliminate any unwanted yellow undertones on your skin. Believe it or not, it will leave a nice glow to the skin.

3. Orange or Peach Concealer:  Ideal for brightening around the eye area and masking signs of fatigue. This particular concealer color is a mixture of red, orange, and yellow hues, which are across from the blue, purple, and green hues on the color wheel. That’s why this color is best to combat dark under eye circles. Since it’s a great brightening agent, these concealers also work well to cover raccoon eyes and to give sallow olive tones skin a much needed radiance
Lighter Skin Tones... stay away from orange concealers. Orange is perfect for people with darker skin tones trying to hide dark circles or other dark discolorations.

4. Yellow Concealer: Perfect for hiding purple or blue bruises, veins, and under eye circles. Yellow concealers are typically the most general, and depending on you skin tone you could use yellow concealer as an eye primer.

5. Neutral Concealers: If you don't have any problems with your skin, or not much areas you need to hide, neutral concealers are better for you. Any regular concealer should work to fix any imperfections. Pick a shade similar to your skin tone, or one shade lighter, and you’re good to go!
you could also use it as an eye primer.

Review: L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

One of my favorites foundations right now is...

l'oreal infallible pro matte  $12.99

This foundation has a medium coverage but you can go to a full coverage by applying a little more in the areas needed. It is very easy to blend but it does dry fast as well, you actually feel like you are not wearing foundation. It's amazing!!!!!!  This foundation perfect for combo/oily, but I would always recommend to always finish your look with a setting powder around the areas you get oily (ex. T-zone, lightly around the cheeks, etc)

It comes in 12 different shades,  and this is a plus for all of us. You will definitely find the right match!!
I've you this for the past month to go to work, everyday look and for night outs. I am very satisfied with this product, the perfect shade, coverage, and how long it lasts. You can find this at any drug store around $12.99 but keep a look at coupons or great discount at you local drug stores. I personally wait until there is a coupon in a magazine or i loveeee those buy 1, get 50% off of second item. This is so great for awesome savings. Plus, a lot of the drugs stores have the rewards card and buy buying item you collect rewards point, take you time and look around.

Good luck at finding your right shade, and enjoy this amazing product!

Besitos.

Daily Makeup Products

This what I would usually wear everyday, nothing crazy. Very Basic, but nothing over the top. I would love to wear less, but I have an un-even complexion. And lately my hormones are acting up that I get breakouts here and there. But I do like to try new things, and see what's out there.
  • Concealer: I ALWAYS wear concealer. I have dark under circles, and just having a concealer I look more awake, and ready for my day. Right now Using Rimmel London Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter.

  • Foundation: This is the step that changes all the time. Sometimes I wear BB creams, or mineral powder foundation, liquid foundation, etc. I have don't have an even complexion, so i find it very hard to not wear foundation, but I am trying my best to feel comfortable with my skin. (I guess I am not the only one, I have to accept my flaws and embrace it)  a
BB cream from gairner combination skin  (medium/dark)
Mineral Powder Foundation from Mary Kate (2.5)
True Match Liquid Foundation ( W7)

  • Set Powder: I have combination skin (oily in the T-Zone) and I prefer to set my face, even If I wear any type of  foundation. Right now, I am using Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I love it, it leaves a nice matte finish. and I dont have to be re-applying after 6 hours. Florida does get very hot and hummid, so I take this badboy anywhere I go just in case I need to touch up.

  • Mascara: waterproof A MUST... and its because I have straight lashes, and I tried many mascaras non waterproof, but no bueno. It doesnt work for me. I would do the whole curling normal routine, as soon as applied the mascare, lashes would go back to how it was Straight!!! I know waterproof is not good for your lashes all the time. It dries them up, but its the only produc that works for me **Beauty is Pain** lol Im currently using Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Marscara Waterproof :)

  • EyeLiner: I tend to always wear eyeliner... all the time. I want to be able to not depend so much. Currently Using They're Real Push Up Liner. I bit tricky to apply it, but with practice, you should be able to master it.

  • Brows: I have very light eyebrow hairs. It runs on my mommy's family side. and so I need to fill them to complete the look. Anastia Beverly Hill Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony.

  • Lips: Bare lips. Currently Using Rose Salve Balm. AWESOME product. you can use it for your lips, cuticles, kness, elbows and face (Dry areas) It moisturizes my lips all the time. I would def purchase this product again.
